APEC Business Travel Card

Description

APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) facilitates seamless business travel among APEC member economies. It allows cardholders to enjoy visa-free entry and expedited immigration processing, significantly reducing travel time and enhancing business opportunities. The card is valid for 5 years. With the APEC Business Travel Card, you can save time during immigration in 19 APEC member economies and enjoy visa-free stays of up to 90 days. However, for Russia, a visa application is still required prior to travel. APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) is no longer issued in physical form. It is now available as a virtual card that can be accessed through the ABTC mobile application. Applicants can download the ABTC application from the Play Store or App Store to log in and access their card. Eligible applicants for the APEC card are Directors and above, or members of the Board of Directors whose names are listed in the Company Deed. This must be supported by submitting a company profile issued by the Directorate General of Legal Administration (AHU). The company profile can be searched here Notes: - Renewal applications should be submitted at least 6 months before the card's expiration date. - APEC Business Travel Card is valid for up to 5 years or shorter, depending on passport validity. - Additional documents may be required depending on the applicant’s circumstances.

Eligibility

Am I eligible for this visa?

Applicants must be Indonesian citizens.
Eligible individuals include company owners, directors, or commissioners.
Only individuals whose names are listed in the Deed of Establishment are allowed to apply.
The company must be established as a Limited Liability Company (PT), not as a CV, UD, or Firma.
Applicants must have completed at least three trips to APEC economies within the last six months.
Valid passport with a minimum remaining validity of two years is required.
Required documents, including a recent photograph and proof of business involvement, must be provided.
Recommendation letter from a relevant business or professional association is required. You can find the list of eligible associations here
Renewal applications must be submitted at least six months prior to the card’s expiration date.
The APEC Business Travel Card is valid for up to five years or less, depending on the passport’s validity.

Recommendation Letter from Business Association *

The recommendation letter must be issued by a relevant business or professional association. You can refer to the list of registered associations here. You can get the template here. ABTC holders traveling to fully participating APEC economies do not need to apply for a separate visa if they have preclearance, which is granted at the discretion of each economy. However, each APEC economy retains the right to determine entry requirements, even after ABTC issuance. The ABTC is not a replacement for a passport, and holders must present both their passport and ABTC upon arrival and departure.

The ABTC provides frequent business travelers with fast-track entry and exit through special APEC lanes at participating airports, as well as multiple short-term entries to precleared APEC economies without needing a separate visa application for fully participating members.

Yes, that’s correct. One of the main requirements for applying for an APEC Card is that the applicant must have made at least 3 business visits to APEC member countries within the last 6 months.
